Nexus 10 which will be Google's first Nexus-branded 10-incher is shaping up to be quite the beast. Of all the leaked specs, the one that really leaps out is the rumored screen resolution: 2560 x 1600 resolution. That bests even Retina iPad.

Windows Phone 8 will be lauched by Microsoft on Oct 29, and--just hours ago--we learned that Google will use the same date to make an Android-related announcement. Call it the Mobile Reboot (Microsoft) vs. the Mobile Incumbent (Google) vs. the Mobile Darling (Apple).

Also, we continue to hear that Google will extend its Nexus smartphone line to include several devices. Likely manufacturers could include LG, HTC, Sony, and even Google's own Motorola Mobility division.

Nokia and HTC have both teased Windows Phone 8 smartphones which should be available by year's end. The Nokia Lumia 920 features a 4.5-inch display, wireless charging, and "PureView" camera.

With a bunch of us running Samsung Galaxy Nexus smartphones - now coming up on their one year anniversaries - the LG Optimus G Nexus could be a tantalizing upgrade option, especially for those of us who are contract-free.
