(Livermore Valley, August 13th)– As Wente Vineyards’ sustainably farmed grapes ripen on the vine, harvest season officially begins for the family owned winery. This September, learn how estate grown wines are produced with a behind the scenes Harvest Tour & Tasting event. Enjoy an epicurean harvest experience at The Restaurant at Wente Vineyards, where executive Chef Arthur Wall creates a daily changing menu highlighting produce sourced from The Restaurant’s own organic gardens. Nearby, at Wente Vineyards’ sister winery Murrieta’s Well join the La Luna Fridays celebration on September 4th with an evening of tapas, wine and live music. Also this month, The Concerts at Wente Vineyards 2009 season comes to a close with sold out performances from Sheryl Crow and James Taylor.

Harvest Tour & Tasting Event:

La Luna Fridays at Murrieta’s Well

The popular events take place from 6pm to 9pm on the Friday closest to the month’s full moon, with Spanish-inspired tapas and Murrieta’s Well wines served on the terrace under the light of “la luna” (the Spanish word for moon). Each La Luna Friday features a different live musical performance, with Steel Drummer Paul Snagg performing on September 4th, and an unannounced top-secret band performing on October 2nd. Tickets are $55 for the general public and $45 for Silver Spur club members, and reservations are required. Tapas and wine are offered from 6:00 to 7:30pm, with wine sales by the bottle available until 8:45pm, and music until 9pm. Sunset Suppers at The Restaurant at Wente Vineyards
