Back in 2006, when Loni & I visited the Loreto Bay development, we took a tour of the Adobe brick facility. Their original vision was to manufacture these limestone and clay bricks at a small plant about a mile outside the development, truck them over to the construction site, and use them to build authentic Mexican style villas.

Unfortunately for many reasons the plan to use Adobe materials could not support the scale and demands that a 5,000+ home development required. Most of the early Founders Neighborhood home owners can enjoy this natural material in their homes. Later homes will benefit from the “Performwall” system which I’ll write about shortly.

Here’s a short video of the Adobe brick plant in action, circa 2006.
