As part of its new play development program, Magic Theatre has announced it will take up a special two-week residency at American Conservatory Theater’s The Costume Shop beginning next week.

From the email we received, “the residency will feature three performances of a “raw” production of Octavio Solis’ Se Llama Cristina directed by Producing Artistic Director Loretta Greco, as well as the work of ten brilliant writers whose plays are in different stages of development. Plus, there will be exciting and diverse late night programming to highlight some of our community’s most inspiring and talented young artists.”

Magic plans to kick-off the two-week residency with three performances of a “raw” version of its Main Stage production Se Llama Cristina (review), a multi-layered fever dream from the mind of cherished Bay Area playwright Octavio Solis.

The readings and late night events will take place at The Costume Shop from February 22 – March 3 and are all free and open to the public.
