Labayen Dance to stage four innovative premieres in San Francisco

Enrico Labayen seamlessly weaves story-telling, theatre, ballet, contemporary dance, Asian movements and gestures with layers of sound and visuals.

Labayen Dance SF announced that they will presents four world premieres from Enrico Labayen, Isadora Duncan Awardee for Outstanding Achievement in Choreography in Broken Column.

Enrico Labayen seamlessly weaves story-telling, theatre, ballet, contemporary dance, Asian movements and gestures with layers of sound and visuals. Innovative choreographer, Labayen embeds intimate and exposing autobiographical stories in broader political contexts, creating performance that has social resonance and at the same time, a ceremony.

Labayen will be presenting the world premiere of  Icarus at the Edge; Frida: Broken Column; En-Gulf-ed & Glass.

The concert will feature performances of guest artists David Chase, former soloist of the Martha Graham Dance Company and Clover Mathis, former principal dancer with Dance Theatre of Harlem and Alvin Ailey Dance Company plus, a special participation of outstanding Bay Area choreographer and dance artist, Folawole Oyinlola in “Duet of Blue”, an male-intergeneration mentorship duet with Mr. Clover Mathis first performed at Men Story Project at UC Berkeley.
