Download_example_bw_2 Last night was invited to speak on a panel of Canadians living in Silicon Valley, hosted by University of Ottawa eMBA program. Was a great time to connect with some fellow Ottawans visiting in San Jose.

Ironically, it turns out my fellow panel member (Donna Morris from Adobe Systems) was a classmate of mine in Ottawa in primary and high school! And not only that, but we live in the same neighborhood in south San Jose…small world. So we had a fun time sharing our experiences living and working here in the valley, for about an hour and a half.

Some of the questions on people’s minds included cost of living (mortgages!), traffic, immigration/visa, and employment/career. I am pleased to see University of Ottawa continue to expand it’s business program, and to extend its reach into Silicon Valley as often as possible.

It was certainly interesting to sit on a panel  on the other side, speaking to future MBAs, and sharing experiences; it amazed me to realize that I have been down here over 8 years now. Time flys when you’re having fun.
