San Francisco: To Celebrate Life Breast Cancer Foundation to hold 17th Annual Gala

Models will wear fashions from UKO, Macy’s, Alice Becker, Banana Republic, Eileen Fisher, West Coast Leather, and Rogue.

BY Monica Turner — 09.18.2012

To Celebrate Life Breast Cancer Foundation’s largest annual fundraiser will feature over 30 sophisticated ladies and one very sophisticated gentleman, all breast cancer survivors, as they walk the runway at the Marin Center Exhibit Hall on September 29.

Organizers tell us that their 17th annual gala Stepping Out To Celebrate Life will feature an evening of fine dining, fashion, dancing and live and silent auctions. The celebration is one of Marin County’s most anticipated galas of the year.

Funds raised from the gala are used to support the foundation’s grants program that distributes money to Bay Area nonprofit organizations providing direct services to people dealing with breast health issues.

The celebrations begin at 5:30 with beverages at the Anything Goes cocktail lounge, followed by a gourmet dinner catered by McCalls.

A fashion show including the vocal talents of Stevie Greenwell, Marin School of the Arts choral instructor, and a ballroom dance performance by Dance Arts Studio is the highlight of the evening.

There will also be an opportunity to participate in a first-class live auction with “Fund A Need,” and a “Best of Live” raffle offering a chance to win your choice of Live Auction items before the official bidding starts. Dancing to the big band sounds of the Richard Olsen Orchestra rounds out the evening’s festivities.

Prominent physicians from the medical community will escort breast cancer survivor models, on an emotional and uplifting walk down the runway. Models will wear fashions from UKO, Macy’s, Alice Becker, Banana Republic, Eileen Fisher, West Coast Leather, and Rogue.
