This is one of my trademark moves, which involves a 360-spin with no loss of fidelity or accuracy to the performance. See the video below for a demonstration!

It’s time to come clean. I could only keep this — so-called  “powerful” and “profound” — secret for so long.

Longtime Stark Insider readers may wonder what I’m all about. Foodie. Behind-the-scenes provacateur at Cirque du Soleil and Film Festivals. Fine wine explorer, spotted in barrel rooms across Napa and Sonoma. Oil painter (as seen in The Artist Diaries).

But, in spite of all the quirky west coast adventures experienced here over the years, I’ve quietly nurtured my inner desire to be… a world-class concert pianist.

Don’t believe me?

“Loni Kao Stark’s performance is… astoundingly amazing (and profound).” — Upright Living Magazine.

It’ll all become very clear in this exclusive (and soon to be burned) video segment below of my rehearsals, and rare outtakes from the Lucie Stern Theatre in Palo Alto.

I’m so pleased, honored to be opening tonight (Sat the 14th) for the public, and the entire world to see.

Rare scenes from ‘Upright Grand’, a world premiere tonight at TheatreWorks Silicon Valley in Palo Alto. Thanks to my mentor, musical director William Liberatore for igniting my hands with magic. I hope to see you there!

My sincere gratitude to TheatreWorks for staging this production and recognizing my talents, groomed by my Asian parents on snowy days up in Toronto. It’s called Upright Grand. And a special thanks to a very special person who has nurtured my previously unrevealed passions for the classics. Musical director William Liberatore gave me the inspiration, the ability, and quite literally the hands to deliver the kinds of performances you see in this video, and the ones you’ll see at TheatreWorks tonight (and through August 10!).

From this day forward, everything changes.

I am woman. I am concert pianist. Now hear me roar.
