Did you know that you can do more than just shop at San Francisco’s iconic Union Square?

The annual ice rink is here! It’s fun for the whole family, and where else can you celebrate the holiday season in such style?

The ice rink runs through Monday, January 17, 2011. Hours are 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. Sunday – Thursday and 10 a.m. – 11:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. On Friday, December 31, 2010 the rink will close at 9:30 p.m.

Ticket prices for children eight years old and under are $4.50 Monday through Friday until 6 p.m. and $5 from 6 p.m. Friday through the closing session on Sunday. For adults, ticket prices are $9 Monday through Friday until 6 p.m. and $9.50 from 6 p.m. Friday through the closing session on Sunday. Ice skate rentals ($4) and hockey skate rentals ($5) will be available.

A portion of ticket proceeds benefit Boys and Girls Clubs of San Francisco and the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department.

Tickets can be purchased at the Union Square ticket window or online at www.unionsquareicerink.com/tickets. Group rates and private parties are also available.
