There are approximately two weeks left until the close of the 2011 Loreto Calendar photo contest. The net proceeds from the sale of this year’s calendar will go to benefit Eco Alianza, a Loreto charity which help to promote environmental awareness in the community.

Each year, we choose a different non-profit in Loreto to support which not only helps spread around much needed funding, but also fosters awareness of different initiatives within our community of SSC readers and Club Loreto Bay members.

Today’s photo entry comes from Mark Dawson and Erin Allen. His three photos of the Oriole and Osprey remind us of the flourishing bird species in Loreto.

Check out all photos entries by clicking here. They will surely provide plenty of inspiration for you to grab your camera, run out and take some fabulous photos of life in Loreto. Then just remember to send them to me at loni@starkinsider.com before the deadline of August 31, 2010.

Good luck!
