2011 Loreto Calendar: Stargazing on beach

Dave writes: "This picture was taken on the east side of the peninsula/rock that connects to the golf course and the south end of the beach. Hope it makes the cut!"

Stargazing Loreto on the beach
Photo taken by Dave and Kathy W. It is one of their favorite photos from Loreto.

My first encounter with Kathy W. was over the phone. She had emailed in asking for help with a posting on Market@ClubLoretoBay for her beautiful villa in Loreto Bay.

By the second encounter, I was on the terrace of her Loreto home along with her husband Dave and another Loreto Bay homeowner and friend, Anne F. We were drinking margaritas, munching on nacho chips and simply taking it easy.

It was on this evening that I will forever know Kathy as the ‘Queen of Scones’. You can read more about this magical evening here: Dinner with the Queen of Scones and her magic flashlight wand.

And so, we come to my third encounter with Dave and Kathy. This one is by email with the above photo attached as their entry into the 2011 Loreto Calendar photo contest.

Dave writes: “This picture was taken on the east side of the peninsula/rock that connects to the golf course and the south end of the beach. Hope it makes the cut!”

Isn’t it a stunning photo? What do you think?

The net proceeds from this contest will benefit a local Loreto charity. This is the third annual calendar of its kind!

There is still time to send in your photos. Email them to [email protected].
