Dr. No and Three Blind Mice

Three Blind Mice?

It’s hard to fathom that the most storied of franchises, Ian Flemming’s James Bond, is almost half a century old. Test of time? How about test of eternity… with mega box-office earnings to match.

Over the decades, the actors that have played the famous 007 spy have changed: Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton (remember him?), Pierce Brosnan, and, of course, current agent with license to kill Daniel Craig.

There have been plenty of cars, women and villains too. But one thing has remained the same: that famous, iconic gun barrel opening and blood crawl.

So how did it look in 1962, and has it changed much since?

Take a look below and see for yourself with the opening of Dr. No, the entry that started the billion dollar juggernaut.

Although it was a low budget ($1M) movie, it turned out to be a global smash hit raking in over $60M.
