greenboxWhile leaving the Hilton Austin gym this morning, the front cover of Entrepreneur magazine caught my eye. Splashed across the cover was a company called Greenbox Technologies. I quickly flipped to the story and the product concept intrigued me.

The product allows you to track energy consumption of each appliance in your home and activity in real time. Pretty compelling in a climate of rising energy costs, growing environmental awareness and shrinking personal wealth and income. The concept and technology could expand to water, gas and other utilities. I think it will be very useful to help consumers make more educated tradeoffs.

The product is still in beta, but I signed up to get notified of when it goes public and even offered to beta test. So if someone from Greenbox reads this blog, let me into the beta program!
