Loreto Hummingbird
Loreto Hummingbird: One of the over 130 photos submitted into the 2011 Loreto Calendar photo contest. Truly amazing!

It’s been almost a month since we published all the photos entered into the 2011 Loreto Calendar photo contest. This is the third year that we are collaborating as a community to pull together a calendar that inspires us and reminds us of the beauty of Loreto, Baja California each and every day.

Each year we donate the net proceeds from the sale of the calendars to a Loreto non-profit. This year’s profits will go to Eco Alianza, a Loreto non-profit that helps promote environmental awareness in the community

We will be selecting the photos for this year’s calendar by end of tomorrow (Sunday) so do get any additional votes in soon! (Click here to access photos and vote.)

For those that submitted photos, I will need a high-resolution (300 dpi, ~3MB+) version of any selected photo so that we can get a clear printing of it for the calendar. I will be sending emails to you requesting these if you did not provide a high-resolution photo in your original submission.

My 2010 Loreto calendar hangs in my office and each month for the past 10 I experience an excitement when I flip to a new page, each photo reminding me of a different aspect of Loreto.

If you haven’t already, do pre-order your 2011 Loreto Calendars here. They will be shipped to you before the holiday season and make great gifts for friends and family.

Thanks for all of you who have supported this effort throughout the years, both in submitting photos and purchasing calendars. We could not have raised $5,566 so far for charities without your generosity and the corporate match from Adobe.
