2011 Loreto Calendar Photo Contest
One of the multitude of beautiful shots of Loreto, BCS by Lilia Lima

Wow, it has been quite the long weekend. One of my goals this week was to get through the queue of calendar photo submissions that you, dear readers enthusiastically emailed me. This is so I could finally end off the Labor Day weekend with a grand finale, a posting with the entire collection of photos from everyone.

It would signify both a celebration of the beauty that this community admires and builds in Loreto, Baja California and also the kick off of the challenging task of narrowing the photos down to the ones that would be featured in the 2011 Loreto Calendar.

Did I succeed?

Not quite, and I have only you all to blame…in a good way.

This submission by Lilia Lima represents a triumphant way to end the line of “first submissions” by all the photographers this year. Lilia Lima generously makes her entire Flickr collection of 119 photos which she took in March of this year available as candidates in the Loreto Calendar.

Several photographers after submitting their initial set of photos decided they just had a couple more that should really be shared with this entire community. So for the next couple of days, there will be still a few more new and exciting shots of Loreto that will be published. Exciting isn’t it?

Enjoy following this photo contest so far? Well don’t forget to order your calendars today so that you and your friends and family will be able to enjoy a little bit of Loreto sunshine every month next year. They make fabulous Christmas presents too! You can order your calendars here: 2011 Loreto Calendar Order Page.

Not only will you have something beautiful hanging on your wall, you will also know that the net proceeds of your purchase will benefit Eco Alianza, a Loreto non-profit that helps promote environmental awareness in the community.
