The Berkeley Playhouse announced their youth company will be performing Disney’s Mulan (Jr) this weekend at the Julia Morgan Center. It should be another high quality family outing. They’ve put on some superb shows, including Peter Pan and The Wizard of Oz last year. And the larger theater space offers more seats, good sight lines, and a more space to operate in terms of staging.
There are only four shows, all this weekend (January 16 and 17).
Mulan is ans action-packed tale about Fa Mulan, the legendary female warrior who hid her gender and defied all society’s expectations to save her Emperor from the invading Huns. According to the email, it “is a rousing musical that will have you up on your feet with its heartwarming celebration of a fighting spirit, family honor and ancient Chinese culture.”
