Bay Area food lovers and Diablo Magazine judges have once again honored The Restaurant at Wente Vineyards with a Diablo Food Award, in recognition of its local, sustainable wine country fare. The award distinguishes the Livermore Valley restaurant as one of the top dining experiences in the East Bay for the sixth time in seven years. The Wente family will honor the award with “Celebration Week” from Monday, November 2nd through Monday, November 9th. Throughout the week, guests of The Restaurant are invited to enjoy a prix fixe menu including a complimentary glass of Wente Vineyards 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon estate grown wine, which will come straight from the oak aging barrel.

“We sincerely appreciate recognition by Diablo Magazine’s judges and thank our loyal family of guests for the high praise,” said Christine Wente, Senior Vice-President of Hospitality. “To show our gratitude, we are inviting guests out the first week of November for a specially priced celebration of food and wine.”

“Celebration Week” will take place from November 2nd through 9th and will feature a two course prix fixe dinner paired with a glass of the Wente Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon straight from the barrel for $29 (exclusive of tax and gratuity). Reservations are suggested and can be made by calling (925) 456-2450 oronline.

Every year, Diablo Magazine readers vote for their favorite restaurants, and Diablo’s judges rate the restaurants’ food, ambience, and service, out of a possible 100 points. The Restaurant at Wente Vineyards received 91 points, with judge Nicholas Boer commenting “Wente provides a spirit of hospitality that should put a bull rider at ease, and a level of detail that just might impress a computer scientist.”  The November issue is on newsstands now.
