La Mision Hotel, Loreto BCS: Grand opening finally arrives

Thanks to John P. who wrote in to let us know that La Mision Hotel finally held its grand opening this past Friday, December 12. It will be interesting to see the finished product when I am down in Loreto again.

In the meantime, for those readers that are down for the holidays, if you pass by this hotel, snap a shot and send it in. Would be great to get a photo update of the final building.

weird that they would have a grand opening on 12 dic, dia del virgen as of today, 18 dic the hotel is not finished. they are working on details but still have lots to do. i would give it another month details are the most time consuming part of construction.

I was pretty amazed to hear they were able to launch the Grand Opening. On their website they are accepting room bookings – don't know how that would work in the midst of construction. Thanks for the update from the ground.

Hi we are currently staying at La Mision Loreto and have an update on the construction. There are rooms available, not all 71 are finished by any means, there is considerable noise from 730-730 each day. One of the restaurants is still only someone's dream, the main restaurant onthe second floor is lovely and provides top notch food with a limited menu, only the soup and catch of the day changes. Our room is on the third floor, overlooking the pool, which is now finished however the tiles and pebble work are not nor is it swimmable unless you enjoy a bit of exhibitionism and the not so covert glances of 10-20 male construction workers. The place is as immaculate as it can be in a construction zone, the staff helpful, friendly and courteous. There is no internet to the rooms yet, no wi-fi in the lobby or any rooms, we got permission to sit in the 4th flr sales room to access the only area that was up on a consistent basis. Lots to be done to complete this hotel but not a bad stay overall. I have pictures which I will make avail soon<br />
