Clint and I have been certain for quite some time that the name of our Nueva Chica in Agua Viva would be named, “Casa del Lagarto Azul” (translation: House of the Blue Lizard).

With our home slowly approaching completion, we thought it was a good time to make it official, and what better way than to announce it on one of our favorite websites? StarkSilverCreek.com (No bias here.)

For those that may think it is a strange choice, let me explain.

Blue: Blue is the color of the sky and sea. It is often associated with depth and stability. It symbolizes trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, faith, truth, and heaven. (source: https://www.color-wheel-pro.com/color-meaning.html)

Lizard: Renewal, vision, enlightenment and rebirth: The lizard makes its appearance on the male court cards in the suit of rods. The lizard (or salamander in some renditions) suns itself on these cards to signify the
importance of vision in the midst of action. In fact, in ancient times (particularly in alchemical lore), it was believed that the lizard renewed its sight by looking into the sun. A symbol of demure perspective in the face of monumental physical force – the lizard is a tiny reminder that big results come from small, conscious efforts. An interesting physical fact about lizards is that they can give up their tails to escape predators.

The logo for our new home will be announced in the future.
