It has been a while since I have written about the progress of our little Nueva Chica. However, as our trip to Loreto approaches quickly, I am reminded I need to gather the various updates received from folks who work or have recently visited the frontline so that I can check on any pending issues and confirm resolutions when I am at the construction site.

The last post on the actual progress of our home was on September 19, 2008 (Shiver my timbers! I see paint and tile ahead!) when I posted up some photos Jane and Sharon had taken while down in Loreto Bay.

Clint and I receive an email from customer service responding to the RFI we had sent in outlining about 5 outstanding issues we had pending from our interactions with our previous account manager Jennifer H. The progress report was attached in PDF and had responses to all the RFI issues we raised as well as a blue box right in the center of the document stating that our home was 70% complete. From the photos in the report, we could see that the hi-guy was finally installed.

Note: When our construction project management was transferred from Jennifer H. at the Scottsdale office to the local Loreto Bay office, I had sent them an email which included our signed off plans, our options list, summary of correspondence where notable decisions/resolutions were made and a completed RFI document.

Another email was received from Raul C. T. of Customer Services that had the statement:

In order to solve the questions you had about some missing hose bibs, ojo de buey windows and some outlet locations I am sending you the architectural, plumbing & the electrical plans so you can see what will be built in your home.

Attached to this email were seven PDF documents showing in great detail the plans for our Agua Viva Lot 25. Clint has since reviewed these plans and they concur with what we have in our records…now we have our fingers crossed that the plans will be reflected in the actual constructed unit.

Received email from Jane L. who, among other interesting suggestions for our blog, also noted:

Your place has been painted. It is a beige color. Lots of activity in AV. The weather is hot but great..lots of pool and beach time and hanging out with friends.

Received email from Karen S. who owns Agua Viva Lot 24 (our neighbor):

…I did note that your A/C in the living/dining room unit was being moved. The tile in both our units is finished and they were laying the pavers on the terrace and in the towers.  You have lower cabinets but no toilets yet; we have toilets but no cabinets. Doors and windows were on site, but not yet being installed. I spent so much time talking to folks, that I really did not get any good pictures, but Laurie is aware of the problems with our unit and will watch for the corrections to be made.  Luis said we should expect to take delivery of our homes by Christmas. Yeah!…

That’s all folks. Should be exciting when we make it down!

P.S. Surprisingly, there were no mention in these updates about any hurricane damage – does no news mean good news?
